Health and nutrition status of children , adolescent girls and women at Patna and Jehanabad districts is deplorable. Malnutrition and anaemia are the serious problem among children , adolescent girls and women members and the problem among dalit population is alarming due to deep rooted poverty among dalit population . Women Sex ratio in the district is 1025, 36% population is of below 15 yrs., only 63% women are literate, children under 5- years are stunted is 61.3% and underweight is 52%, children with 6-59 months anaemic is 61%, 15-49 yrs. Women anaemic status is 68% and 15-19 yrs. Girl’s anaemic status is 72%.

In such circumstances , we request agencies for fund support at international as well as national level so that ABHIYAN can take initiatives for minimizing malnutrition and anaemia among children , adolescent girls and women members at dalit community through promoting kitchen garden . In the meantime we will take initiative for improving leadership of dalit women members , it will improve community awareness on the issues.
